EMIY (Encourage Me I’m Young) Inc., a non-profit 501c3 based in Detroit, have been “rebuilding families through developing boys and encouraging fathers” as a fresh perspective to empower communities one step; one leader at a time. The mission of EMIY is to uplift and encourage youth of all ages to become compassionate, intelligent, and logical decision makers while embracing their abilities to become the future leaders of encouragement and empowerment. The work of Awareness is demonstrated by its advocacy and Respect Day movements; Encouragement is demonstrated in the Future Leaders Mentorship Program (EFL); and Empowerment is demonstrated through the Good Fathers Only fellowship and resources.
EMIY is asking for donations to build an Empowerment Center to impact the area for families and youth so it can impact the entire area of the west side of Detroit, and the Brightmoore area. In Detroit there are very few recreation type buildings open to provide in this area. Directly across the land is Smith Homes a Government based housing complex which houses low income families and elderly couples and the entire county will benefit from this complex.
